Year after year, SeafoodFest presents some of the area’s finest musicians on its Ballard Avenue MainStage. 2007 is no exception. From country to rock and roll and gospel to folk, we have a first-rate line up that will appeal to all musical tastes. Come for one act or camp out for the whole weekend. Whether you sit in the beer garden, down front or under a tree, you can enjoy it all free of charge. Only in Ballard!
Main Stage
Brave Combo
Grammy winners
on our “provincial” Ballard
Avenue MainStage?
You bet! From
Denton, TX comes
rockin’-with-a-capital “R,” Brave
Combo. These
two-time Grammy
winners have
an eternal wrestle-hold
on everything
great about polka.
But this is not
your grandmother’s
polka, oh no.
This is a rip-roarin’ genius
mix of Tex-Mex,
klezmer, surf
rock, cha cha,
cumbia and even
some bubblegum.
(After all, we
all need a little
of that.) Toss
in everything
in between and
you get what
the Washington
Post calls “mosh
pit polka.” We
guarantee that
you’ll
never hear the
Hokey Pokey in
quite the same
way after you
hear it done
by this brilliant
group of accomplished
musicians. This
is a reprise
of their 2005
SeafoodFest appearance,
where they had
the audience
twirling their
umbrellas, applauding
uproariously,
and best of all,
smiling with
grins as wide
as Texas.
Wylie & the Wild West Show
A perennial
SeafoodFest favorite,
Wylie and the
boys have been
gracing the MainStage
for nearly 10
years. Why do
we continue to
bring him back?
That’s
easy. Their brand
of traditional
country-cowboy
swing is infectious
and genuine.
While SeafoodFest
is truly their
all time favorite
place to perform,
(really!) they’ve
also played the
Kennedy and Lincoln
Centers, as well
as the Grand
Ole Opry. And
who would have
imagined that
this gifted horse
rancher from
Dusty, Washington,
would get his
biggest piece
of renown via
a little yodel
done for a little
internet startup.
Yup, you got
it, that ubiquitous “Yahoo” yodel
is vintage Wylie.
And finally,
if you haven’t
experienced Wylie’s
version of “Cattle
Call,” you
haven’t
quite lived.
We strongly encourage
your attendance—living
is a fine thing.
Alleyoop! & Ballard Commons Park The FamilyStage
is moving to the
Ballard Commons
Park! As always,
Alleyoop! plays
host to puppeteers,
magicians, storytellers
and songsters. So
now, along with
entertainment ‘specially selected for our younger festival goers, the park’s
water feature, skate
bowl and expansive
lawns provide kids
a chance to cool
off, watch the boarders
or take a rest.
Kings of Crab Don’t miss these heroes of everyone’s favorite Discovery Channel show, Deadliest Catch. Captains Larry Hendricks and Sig Hansen, born and bred in Ballard, and fellow crab boat captain Phil Harris, join us straight from their crab boats in Alaska. Hear tales of the sea, see your idol and ask those questions only they can answer. The guys will hang around to sign autographs and share their “Kings of Crab” souvenirs. What a catch for SeafoodFest! And deadly only in their charming good looks.

Bergen
Place CommunityStage
Located in the
heart of Ballard
and SeafoodFest,
the CommunityStage
is a celebration
of the special place
that is Ballard.
Lest we forget,
Ballard has a rich
Scandinavian history
and strong ties
to the maritime
industry. Starting
off with Stan Boreson
both days, performers
pay tribute to our
many traditions.
Sing along, tap
your feet or get
up and dance. We
all have a little
Viking in us, so
feed it!
Stan Borenson
Who better represents both Puget Sound history and its Norwegians than this man?! Stan’s back again for another year of songs, stories and jokes. King’s Klubhouse members will be transported back to the television-watching days of their childhood. But even if you didn’t grow up here, you’ll soon be a fan of his accordion playing and Scandinavian humor. Zero Dachus, Mucho Crackus, Hallaballooza Bub….
