Festivals all the same you say? Not so!
SeafoodFest, now in its 38th year, is a lot like Ballard—special, unique and just a bit quirky!
The most unique attraction is the Annual Lutefisk Eating Contest, which takes place in Bergen Place Park. Contestents gather and see just how much of this delicacy they can eat. (or stomach!) Cash prizes go to those who rise above the others. The winner consumes over 3-1/4 pounds of lutefisk. Sign-ups take place at the festival, beginning two hours prior. And thanks to Scandinavian Specialties, there'll be plenty of fish for all our contestants.

With just their fingers, contestents shovel down the lutefisk.
A big thanks to Scandinavian Specialties for donating the delicious lutefisk for our contest.
And another to the Ballard Landmark and their kitchen staff for cooking up the lovely lutefisk.
